Here is an application that lets you use the PSP as a secondary display for your computer.

Materials needed:

-A PC running Windows XP
(it seems that it does not work with Vista and it has not been tested on Windows 2000, and Linux / Mac OS are not available) with at least a Pentium 4 / Athlon 64 as processor.
-A PSP ( with custom firmware )

The tutorial will take place in 5 parts:

I. Installing of aplication on PC
II. Installing of aplication on PSP
III. Installation of USB drivers for the PC Addendum: If the PC refuses to start
IV. Using PSPdisp

I. Installing of aplication on PC :

Next,

Check "I accept the terms in the License Agreement" then click Next,

Uncheck "Autostart PSPdisp" if you do that the application will not starts at startup, then click Next,

Connect your PSP to your computer via USB, Place your PSP in "USB mode" with the option "USB Connection", Right-click on the file you downloaded, Choose "Extract files ...", (WinRAR is recommended), Select destination as the letter assigned by your PSP in "My computer",
Press OK and wait for the extraction of files, quit the "USB mode" on your PSP and disconnect the USB cable to your PSP,Go to the menu Game >>> Memory Stick to launch PSPdisp.

The application for PSP is correctly installed, we will go to the installation of USB drivers for the PC. Do not close the application on PSP, or the one on PC!

III. Installation of USB drivers for the PC :

How'to install Mac OSX 10.4.6 on a PC [Dual Boot]

There are only two ways to install OSX 10.4.6 legal on your Windows computer:

1. Become an Apple developer
2. You can also buy an Intel Mac (I would recommend the Macbook Pro), install Windows XP on it using Apple’s Boot Camp and remove OSX completely, so that you have a legally bought osx86 licence. This metod isn’t confirmed and some most people say it’s illegal because the EULA says that you aren’t allowed to install OSX on non-Apple hardware.

This means that for most people it is ILLEGAL to install osx on their computer. If you aren’t an Apple developer, leave page site now. This site is in no way liable or responsible for the actions of its visitors.

You need:

1. A prepatched OSX 10.4.6 install image
2. An empty dvd recordable (+R or –R, NO Rewritable!)
3. At least 6 GB free space.

The guide:
1. Get an prepatched OSX 10.4.6 install image.

2. Burn the image to an empty dvd recordable (+R or –R)

>> Use your favourite burn program for this (I recommend Nero Burning Rom or Alcohol 120%)

3. Create at least 6GB unallocated space on your harddisk using Partition Magic:

>> Start partition Magic
>> Click on ‘Resize/Move Partition
>> Move the slider to make the partition smaller and hit OK
>> Click on ‘Apply’
>> Close Partition Magic

4. Click ‘START > Run…’ and type ‘diskpart’ (without quotes)

3. Type in (press enter after you typed in a line):

list disk
select disk [the number of your disk
create partition primary id=af

5. Close the command window.

6. Make sure you have a bootable disk with fdisk (I recommend spfdisk), so that you can change your active partition if it goes wrong! Also: After this step you can’t use your computer for up to 1 hour!

Tutorial: Beginner’s Guide to Ripping and Uploading Movies

Ok, I've decided to make a tutorial about the entire process of ripping, converting and uploading movies. Now I realise that there is a thousand and one different ways of doing this with many different types of software and I certainly don't claim to know the best or easiest way, however this is the way I do it and it has worked very well for me after having done this dozens of times.

There are 5 main sections to this tut. They are:

• Section One: Ripping a DVD to your harddrive
• Section Two: Encoding it to avi format
• Section Three: Taking screen captures and other info for the post
• Section Four: Splitting the movie into chunks ready for uploading
• Section Five: Uploading to rapidshare.com via Rapid Uploader

What this tut does NOT address (at least this version anyway):
• Ripping TV Episodes
• Correcting out-of-sync audio
• Correcting wrong aspect ratios
• Irregular dvd copy protection
• Advanced encoding and converting options
• Uploading to non rs file hosts

After you have downloaded the above and installed them, you can proceed.

Note 1: If you already have older versions (but not too old) of the above programs, it should be fine.
Note 2: When installing, there are no special options or anything you need to worry about, just keeping clicking Next.

Section One: Ripping a DVD to your harddrive

• First step is to insert the DVD into the DVD drive. For this tut, the example I will be doing is the movie Con Air (1994) with Nicolas Cage.

• After a while, the autorun Windows box will appear asking what action you wish to take. Select Decrypt DVD Video and click OK.

• If the box doesn't appear, simply open DVDDecrypter and it will automatically select the dvd drive with the dvd in it.

• You will see a list of all the dvd files, made up of .ifo .vob and .bup files, on the right side of the program. Since we are only interested in the movie and not the menu's or extra's etc, select Edit along the top menu and click Select Main Movie Files.

• Only the files related to the main movie will be highlighted. DVDDecryptor will automatically select the destination of the rip based on which harddrive has the most remaining space left. You can of course click the little folder and choose your own destination, keeping in mind there should be at least 7GB of space available.

• Click the large button in the bottom left (the one with a pic of a CD, a green arrow and a harddrive) to begin the rip.

• The program will now begin ripping the movie onto your harddrive.

• It depends on the movie but for Con Air, it took about 13 minutes. When it is done, it will display a message box stating the Operation was Successfully Completed and that's the end of the first section.

Section Two: Encoding it to avi format

• First, open up AutoGK.

• Click the folder icon next to Input file and locate the folder DVDDecryptor ripped the movie to.

• Now select the file that ends with the .IFO extension and click Open.

• Now specify an output file (by clicking the little folder and clicking Save).

• Under Audio tracks you can choose which to include and which to exclude. I only want the English 6 channel track so I don't have to do anything. You can also include subtitles but again this doesn't interest me.

• As you can see in the screen shot, just below the Output file, the movie goes for ~1 Hour 50 Minutes. As a general rule I like to use, if the movie is shorter than 1:50, I rip to 1 CD (700MB) size and if the movie is 1:50 and greater I rip to 2CD (1400MB) size.

• So for Con Air I will be ripping to 2 CD's. As this is the default setting in the Predefined size, I don't have to change it.

For a 2 CD encode such as this one, the default setting will be that the audio will remain original from the DVD, in this case 5.1 Channel AC3 surround sound, and not converted. For a 1 CD encode, the audio will automatically be converted to 2 channel MP3 at 128 kbps.

• If you click Advanced Settings you can see some...well...advanced settings. This doesn't concern us, as long as the Auto width, Auto and XviD settings are checked.

You could of course rip in DivX instead of XviD but I personally prefer XviD. Why? Three main reasons:
• It arguably gives better quality and encodes faster than DivX
• It's free, unlike DivX
• It is the scene standard

• It is now time to start the encode. To do this, click Add Job then Start.

• How long it takes greatly depends on your computer specs. I have a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+ and it took 2 Hours 20 Mins to rip Con Air and this is about typical for my PC.

• Various things will pop up (but in minimised state) during the encoding. You can just ignore these, but do not close them. You can check the progress of the rip by browsing through the log window. Once it is finished it will say Job finished along with the total time it took at the bottom of the log.

• AutoGK will automatically split the 1400MB movie into two 700MB files. I would also recommend giving them a meaningful name, in this case I called the first CD:

C0n.Air.1997.AC3.6CH.DVDRip.XviD_CD1.avi

and the second CD:

C0n.Air.1997.AC3.6CH.DVDRip.XviD_CD2.avi

• By this naming convention, a person can see the name of the movie (Con Air), when it was made (1997), the audio type (AC3) and the number of channels (6 CH, for those with surround sound), the quality/source (in this case, a dvd rip) as well as what codec was used to encoded it (XviD) and of course what CD it is (1 or 2).

You may notice the file name is C0n.Air instead of Con.Air. This a completely one-off because "con." is actually a reserved DOS word.

• Before continuing, I would recommend you open the movie and watch a few random parts for a couple of minutes, just to ensure the rip went according to plan and that no audio is out of sync. Testing it now could save a lot of time later down the track.

Section 3: Taking screen captures and other info for the post

• Ok, everyone knows that a good post is post that contains screen caps and info. To take the screenies, we'll use a program called Image Grabber II.

• First open up Image Grabber II, go to File then Open File... and navigate to the first CD and click Open.

• You can manually take pics by sliding the slider and click the Manual Screen caps button. However to save time, click the monitor button and a box will appear asking for the Number of Frames to Extract. I usually take 15 so enter 15 and click OK.

• It will automatically capture frames and display them down the bottom. You can remove any by right clicking on them and selecting Delete. However it's auto selection is usually fine for me.

• Now select File in the menu and click Save File. You can play around with any settings like fonts and colours etc but the default is fine for me. Click Save and save the screen cap into a folder.

• Repeat for the second CD. There is now a series of miniature pics of the movie for downloader’s to have a look at which is also accompanied with the movie name, file size, resolution and duration all in the one image.

• I also like to include 1:1 screen caps, as in if the movie resolution is 672x288 then so will the pics size. I usually include 2-5 and do this so downloader’s can judge the quality and resolution.

• To get these you do the same as above but instead of clicking Save File..., you click Save Multiple... on the file menu and specify a folder to save all the pics to. Now each pic will be an individual image in the correct movie size.

• You can then host the pics. I use tinypic because it's nice and easy and hassle free:

• First click the Browse button and navigate to the image you wish to upload, click Open then click the Upload Now button.

• Now simply copy the second text box content and paste into your post.

• Now to get the technical info about the movie. With AVI2Clipboard installed it is simply a matter of right clicking the movie and selecting AVI2Clipboard on the menu.

• You can do this one of two ways. First is click Save to Clipboard (Normal) and it will copy the info to the clipboard as text so you can paste it into your post.

• Second is instead click View AVI Information then press Print Screen so you can take a screen shot of the info (and paste it in ms paint or something and save it as a .jpg) and put it into the post as an image. I usually display this info as image rather than text for the simple reason that I think it looks neater.

• Repeat for the second CD.

• For my posts I include a link to the movie at imdb:

and also the plot (also taken from imdb). This is so the person knows what the movie is about and has a link to where they can get even more information if they want to.

Section Four: Splitting the movie into chunks ready for uploading

• You're now already to go, you just have to split and upload it. Now, one the most common file hosting sites in the world is rapidshare.com and they have a limit of 100MB per file so the movies have to be split. To do this, we will use WinRar.

If you're thinking of splitting a file with HJSplit or similar, DONT! Programs like those do not provide any sort of error checking, crc's or error repairing and they do not perform diagnostics or testing. WinRar does. If you download the split parts of a movie and they have been split with HJSplit and one or more parts have become corrupt during the download process (which is not uncommon), there is very little you can do except re-download all the parts again because you don't know what the matter is.

With WinRar you at least have options that can salvage a perfectly working video from corrupt files or at least tell you exactly which file is the problem so you only have to download that part again.

• First step is to open WinRar. Go to Tools at the top menu and select Wizard.

• Check Create a new archive and click Next.

• Now select the file we want to split, which in this case is the first Con Air CD.

• Select a destination for the parts and I would recommend changing the name of the archive to something a bit more cryptic than just the name of the movie. For this example I've used the initial's of the movie "CA" plus CD 1. I do this to lessen the chance of having the links reported.

• On the next screen, click Set password... if you wish to have a password for the movie. This is of course optional but I always set a password mainly to prove that it is in fact my own upload and not just taken from another warez site.

• Now in the drop down box on the same screen, select Zip100: 98078 kb so that the archive will be broken into 100MB chunks. After that, click Finish and the process will begin.

• Once it's finished, repeat the same for the second CD and you should end up with 16 files.

• I would also recommend at this point the you extract the movie from the parts to test it and make sure nothing went wrong with the splitting or password. This will save you a lot of time if you find out something did go wrong after uploading all the parts. Now it's just a matter of uploading the files and you're done.

Section Five: Uploading to rapidshare.com via Rapid Uploader

• Now obviously for this section, you have to have a rapidshare premium account. First step is to open Rapid Uploader. It's a stand alone program that will create it's own history and settings files. Because of this, it is recommended you place it in it's own folder.

• Click the Settings tab then the Login tab and under Login-Type check Premium Account (or Collector's Account if that's what you have).

• Now enter your rapidshare account user name and password before clicking the Click here to finalize this option.

• Back on the Upload tab, click the Add button, navigate to the 16 rar files we made earlier and open them. If the uploads don't start automatically, click the Upload button then Upload on the menu.

• You can of course play around with the other Rapid Uploader options and settings to find what best suits you. Once all the files have been uploader, you are now ready to post.

How To install Custom Firmware on Your PSP

IMPORTANT: This will NOT work with PSP's with TA-88V3 Motherboards and PSP-3000s.

We are going to do it in three parts:

1. Making the Magic Memory Stick (MMS)
2. Make the Pandora Battery (JigKick Battery)
3. Update the firmware of the PSP to 4.01 M33-2

When this guide is done, you should have a PSP that is Custom Firmwared up to 4.01 M33-2, a magic memory stick and a Pandora Battery (if you hardmodded it that is)

So lets get started =D

Update: The PSP-3000 (PSP Slim & Brite) can be custom firmwared - needs a Datel Lite Tool battery of a special sort - can't remember its name. The rest of the procedure should be the same.

Last I heard, the situation was still the same, so don't expect anything - the TA88v3 motherboards are RARE as it is.

1. Making the Magic Memory Stick

This will guide you through the process of how to make a Magic Memory Stick for the PSP to boot off the Custom Firmware.

What the Magic memory Stick does is having the system files we want to replace the original PSP's system files with, which in this case is the Official Firmware with our Custom Firmware.
IMPORTANT: If you have a PSP Slim & Lite, do not mess with any option relating to 1.50 firmware. If you try flashing firmware with the 1.50 addon, your PSP is screwed, my friend, with no hope in hell.

This is also why we need to have a Pandora Battery, because the Pandora Battery allows us to boot from the Memory Stick and depending on which 2 options we pick, it will replace the files and settings with its own.

So now since you have a basic understanding of how this works, lets get started =D

You will need a Memory Stick Pro DUO with at least 512mb of memory ( you can use your own, but make sure you have backed up your files on it first in case something goes wrong =D ) and a cord to connect the PSP to the computer or a Card reader if you don't have a chord for it or your PSP is bricked.

You Will Need:
• A computer running Windows XP/Vista (I mean, LastXP/Prophecy compatible! )
• An Internet Connection (duh)
• WinRAR (if you don't have it, what are you doing here? :S )

Now download these three files:

When downloaded, extract the 'RainMMSFull.rar' file to somewhere you will find it.

Now plug your Memory Stick (via card reader) or PSP (via USB) into your computer. Now, find the RainMMS.exe on your desktop, and double click it

When opened, it should look like this:

Now, make sure the top drop-down menu is '4.01 OFW/M33-2 (DCv7)' so this is done correctly.

When that is selected, press 'Load EBOOT' then the bottom screen will open.

Now select your '401.PBP from the menu, and press 'Open'

Now make sure the 'Format Memory Stick' box is selected, and make sure 'USB Version Fake Plugin' and '1.50 Kernel Addon Installer' are also selected (Once you press this, you need to load your 1.50 Official Firmware by pressing '1.50 EBOOT' and finding it. [Only for PHAT PSP I.E. PSP-1000s]. The 'Pandora Trigger Button' should be on L - if not, change it to it.

Under 'Other Functions' from the drop-down menu, select 'Format & Inject IPL & Create Folders' and now click 'Make MMS'

Make sure, that when it is creating it, to NOT click the Magic Memory Stick creator anywhere in its window area.
If you click it, it will look like its frozen, and when its finished, you will have a corrupt Magic Memory Stick.

When finished, you have created your Magic Memory Stick. w00t!

2. Make the Pandora Battery (JigKick Battery)

Making a Pandora Battery allows the PSP to enter 'Service Mode' which will let the PSP to boot off the Magic Memory Stick.

With booting from the Magic Memory Stick, we replace the system files that are the original PSP's firmware to the Custom Firmware.

This is also for if your PSP is bricked. It replaces the stuffed up firmware with a new firmware. Using this method can also allow you do 'fix' your PSP's original firmware and can also downgrade your PSP's firmware if needed.

When the PSP battery is inserted, the PSP reads from the battery's EEPROM which is something in binary code: 00101000101110010101001 (not actual code, just an example of binary). Making a Pandora or 'JigKick' battery, sets that code to all 1's ( 1111111111111111111111 ) which makes the PSP enter 'Service Mode'.

For this, I give you four options:

1. Buy a hybrid two-in-one battery from the internet. These are special batteries that can be used as a normal PSP battery or a pandora battery at the press of a button. You can buy one from here:

I did - its still working fine. Once you've received yours, just skip down to step 3, because none of this section has anything to do with you anymore .

2. Buy a tool battery converter that converts PSP batteries (2000 or 1000) into a service tool battery (Pandora/JigKick). You can buy one from here:

Plug your battery in, push the button, and abra cadabra, its a Pandora battery. Again, skip down to Step 3, because none of the rest has anything to do with you. Remember to change your battery back to a normal one after flashing the PSP.

3. Softmod the battery yourself. This is essentially the same thing as what a battery converter does, except we're gonna use two Phatties to do our bidding. Here's what you need:

• A Phat PSP that is already custom firmwared to 4.01 M33-2 or below
• A Phat PSP battery ( one is fine, because we will be turning it back after this is done =D )
• A computer running Windows XP/Vista (Again, LastXP/Prophecy compatible)
• An Internet Connection
• WinRAR

Now you need to download just one thing, that is this:

Its name is LE Recovery Menu Plugin.

Now lets start =D

Plug the Custom Firmwared Phat PSP into your computer, and if there isn't a folder on the root of the memory stick called 'seplugins' make one. (without the quotes, duh)

Open it, and right click inside and go to 'New > Text Document'

Name that text document 'vsh' (without the quotes)

Open that newly created vsh.txt document.

Copy and Paste 'ms0:/seplugins/recovery.prx' into it and save it (without the quotes)

Now, double-click on the LE Recovery menu archive you downloaded, and double click the 'SEPLUGINS' folder. Now copy and paste the 'recovery.prx' file in there to the 'seplugins' folder on the PSP.

Exit USB Connection.

Now fully power off the custom firmwared Phat PSP by holding up the power button.

Now press the R shoulder button while turning back on.

You are now in the Recovery Menu.

Now navigate down to plugins. press X and then navigate down to 'recovery.prx [VSH]' and press X on it to enable on it.

Exit recovery menu.

Now on your PSP XMB, hold the R shoulder button and press the Music Note button.

When that menu comes up, go to Extends, and navigate down to 'Pandora' press X on it.

Now navigate down to Pandora Battery, and press X, then wait about 10 seconds and press X again.

Keep on pressing circle until you are out of the LE recovery menu.

Now, you have a softmodded pandora battery that works in a Phat and a Slim & Lite PSP.
(You do basically the same to turn the battery back to normal)

Go to Step 3.

4. Hardmod the battery. It involves opening up the battery and soldering off a pin or cutting a cord, which depends on what PSP Battery you have.

You will need a spare battery because when you make it Pandora, there is no way of using it as a normal battery.

So lets start =D

CAUTION: If done wrongly with the Phat PSP battery, it could blow off your hand. So at YOUR OWN RISK )

IMPORTANT: PHAT PSP-1000's PANDORA BATTERY WILL WORK WITH A PSP SLIM & LITE, BUT A PSP SLIM & LITE's PANDORA BATTERY WILL NOT WORK WITH A PSP PHAT

Making the Battery:

PHAT BATTERY

You Will Need:
For PSP Phat Battery
• Any PSP Phat Battery
• Guitar Pick
• Soldering Iron with a very fine conical tip
• Xacto-Knife with sharp tip / Steak knife / Scissors
• A VERY steady hand
• Crazy Glue / Super Glue / Tape

First off, you will need to crack into the case, this isn't too hard, just slide the guitar pick across the sides to crack it open

Now we need to remove the 5th pin from a chip that has the model number S93C56 printed on it. Here is a magnified view below:

The newer PSP Phat batteries have a different layout, but you will still need to remove that 5th pin from that same circuit.

Now we need to remove that pin, there are a lot of ways to do this, like snapping off the pin. But this is most likely the easiest way and less damaging to the circuit board in the battery.

Use the Xacto-Knife, and try and put it under the pin. Get someone to hold the Xacto-knife while you hold the soldering iron on the pin. When the solder melts, pop the pin up with the knife. Just make sure you don't hold it for too long because it could make the battery too hot and blow it up.

When you are done, it should look something like this:

And now your done, close the case and glue it together with some super glue or crazy glue.

Or you can tape it together, but that is not recommended because it will be very tight in the Battery Holder on the PSP and will take some effort to put it in and take it out.

And now this can be used just like a Pandora battery for either PSP Phat or Slim.

SLIM & LITE BATTERY

You Will Need:
• PSP Slim & Lite battery model PSP-S110 (3.6v 1200mAh) (Original PSP Slim & Lite Battery)
• Guitar Pick
• Magnifying Glass (Recommended but not needed)
• Sharp Utility Knife
• Crazy Glue / Super Glue / Packing Tape

Open the battery case using a guitar pick. Slide around the sides and bottom until the seals break.

Take a bit more care around the top breaking the seal since there is where the connectors for the circuit board connect to the top of the battery which connects to the PSP power connector.

Now that its open, there you should see a small circuit board connected to the lithium-ion battery by 2 small pieces of metallic foil. Gently, and with a bit of time, unfold the circuit board away from the battery pack and lay out flat.

Now in the top-left corner of the circuit board, if your looking at it like I am, you should see the number 19.

Now, using the utility knife, and it being very sharp will make it easier (this will be a lot easier if you have a magnifying glass) cut on the '19' line.
The end product ( the cord cut ) should look something like this:

Now refold the circuit board back into place, and put the battery back together. Now for the start here, use packing tape just to make sure it works. Once all sealed, let's test it to see if it works. Put it in your PSP. Once it touches the PSP's connectors, the PSP should turn on automatically.

If it did, it worked and you can get rid of the packing tape and stick it together with super glue and then it is fully pandorized and cannot be turned back.

If it didn't turn back on, leave the battery in there and try turning the power on yourself. If it does, you need to make the cut deeper, if it didn't turn back on, either your battery was flat before you started, or you cut too deep and stuffed up the PSP battery entirely. If you have stuffed it, I recommend, not re-trying it, but buying a Hybrid 2-in-1 battery (links are above)

And now you have a Pandora Battery.

3. Custom Firmware the PSP to 4.01 M33-2

Now since you have a Pandora Battery (Tool Battery/JigKick Battery), its time to load the firmware from the Magic Memory Stick using the newly-created battery you just created/bought.

You Will Need:
• PSP-1000 (Phat) or PSP-2000 (Slim & Lite) with any Official Firmware or bricked
• Your newly-created Pandora Battery
• Your newly-created Magic Memory Stick

Take out the battery (Pandora or otherwise).

Put your Magic Memory Stick in the PSP.

Hold the L Trigger Button on the PSP and insert the Pandora Battery. Your PSP's power should come on automatically and after a few seconds, it will enter 'Service Mode'

You should see something like this:

Now you should have seven options (as above):
1. Install 4.01 M33
2. Install 4.01 OFW
3. NAND Operations
4. Hardware Info
5. Test M33
6. Shutdown
7. Reboot Device

We are going to do the first option, but first, I'll explain what each option means.

The first option lets us install 4.01 M33-2 Custom Firmware on our PSP's system.

The second option updates the PSP to the Official Firmware, and in this case it is 4.01

The third option copies all the files that is on the PSP system's memory to your memory card (Approx 32mb for Phat PSP, and approx 64mb for Slim & Lite PSP)

The fourth option tells you your PSP Model, Motherboard, Tachyon, Baryon, Pommel, Nand Size and Fuse ID.

The fifth option lets you test the M33 firmware on the Magic Memory Stick (4.01 M33-2)

The sixth option shutdowns the PSP

And the seventh option reboots the PSP.

So navigate up to the first option and pres X to install the Custom Firmware and when it prompts you to turn off your PSP using X, press it. Not doing so, could potentially damage your PSP beyond repair.

Now turn the PSP back on not holding any buttons. If done correctly, it should turn back on like your PSP did before any of this.

If not, redo the steps above until it did.

Now just to make sure you did the steps correctly, go into Settings>System Settings>System Information. The system software should read '4.01 M33-2' if not, redo the steps above.

If it does, you have done it, and you either unbricked your PSP or downgraded (or upgraded :S) to a Custom Firmware.

So put in your spare battery (non-pandorized) and if this is your only memory stick, format the memory stick! Now you are fully done!

FOR PHATTIES:

Navigate to your Game menu and go to Memory Stick.

There is the Installer for 1.50 Kernel Addon for 4.01

Press X on it and go through the steps, and do whatever it says.

And now you can play homebrew games on your PSP-1000!!!

EXTRA:

While we're still here, let's take a look at the 'M33 Recovery Menu'
To get into the menu, hold your power switch up until the PSP is fully off.

And when turning back on, hold the R trigger Button

You are now in the 'M33 Recovery Menu'

Toggle USB: Same as USB Connection in the XMB

Configuration:
Skip Sony Logo: Skips Sony logo on booting up
Hide corrupt icons: Hides any icons that are corrupt on the XMB
Game folder homebrew: Has a kernel already in there, but you still need to install it on a Phat PSP (I think)
Autorun program at: /PSP/GAME/BOOT/EBOOT.PBP: Allows you to run update EBOOTS when your PSP is booted (Recommended to disable)
UMD Mode: Has three options - Normal (UMD Required), M33 Driver (No UMD), Sony NP9660 (No UMD), OE isofs legacy (No UMD)
Fake Region: Allows you to choose which regions UMDs run on (Recommended to disable - keeps it region free)
Use VshMenu: Toggles the menu in the XMB when Select is pressed (the overclock options etc - Recommended to enable)
XMB Usb Device: Toggles which memory of the PSP is explorable through the USB connection. You can toggle from Memory Stick, Flash 0, Flash 1, Flash 2, Flash 3, UMD Disc
Charge Battery When USB Cable Plugged: Allows you to charge through USB without going into USB Mode
Use M33 Network Update: Allows update of custom firmware instead of official firmware through the XMB
Hide PIC0.PNG and PIC1.PNG in game menu: Hides game pictures, icons and backgrounds
Use version.txt: Don't know - I suspect it uses this file's information to display in the System Information from the XMB

Run program at /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP: Don't know what this is for - some sort of recovery, maybe?

To exit the M33 Recovery Menu, just go back to the main menu and hit Exit.

Once your PSP has booted up, press Select. This is your VSH Menu. Go to EXIT on the bottom of it to exit.

There is a newer firmware update, just so you know. If you have a WiFi connection, then just make sure in the M33 Recovery Menu you have Use M33 Network Update enabled.

First your going to need a good source for your movie your wanting to encode,
Anything in the 700Mb xViD encoded range should be good...

Install Nero ACC executable files in the MeGUI folder which is;

Restart your PC,

Start up MeGUI once its loaded press "CTRL+R", That will open "AVISynth Script Creator"

1. Select the source movie you want to encode.
2. Make sure "Resize" Is UNTICKED.
3. Click save and save the script.

1. The AVS file you just made should already be selected if not then select it.
2. If the OUTPUT of the encoded file isn't pre defined define it now.
3. Make sure the Codec is set at "x264"
4. Make sure "MKV" is selected as the file container.
5. Select "HQ-Slower" as the video profile.
6. Select the original video source as the audio input.
7. If the audio output isn't yet defined define it now.
8. Select "NDAAC-HE-64Kbps" as the audio profile it provides perfect compression to bitrate ratio.
9. Select "ND AAC" as the codec
10. Select "MP4-AAC" as the audio extension.
11. Press "AutoEncode.

1. Select the container as "MKV"
2. Define your desired output of the encoded movie
3. Make sure the file size radio button is selected, And define the file size as 300MB or 400MB depending

on the length of the movie (Try to get the bitrate at 450ish)
4. Select "Queue"
5. Go to the Queue tab once your back on the main MeGUI page and select "Start down the bottum, It will ask

if you want to create a worker, Create one.

And that's how you do it guys....

Only problem is for weak pcs as it will take about 3 hours

How to play GTA IV using your generic controller

A guide : Works with all controllers (tested by me)

INFORMATION:

This extremely simple guide will teach you how to emulate an xbox360 controller, because IV supports only that. Now, you can use any controller you wish (unsure about wheel and pedals).

1) Download the following archive.
2) Unpack the xinput9_1_0.dll and the xbox360cemu.ini from the archive into your gta4 dir.
3) Edit the .ini according to your personal controller, or however you may please. The .ini is initially set up to work 100% correctly with Logitech RumblePad 2 and my ps3 controller.

Note: in order to understand how to edit key mappings, read the included readme.txt.

To configure the DLL, you'll have to stick a file called xbox360cemu.ini into the C:\Windows directory. See the sample INI for an example setup. The INI file itself is pretty simple, you have a section [PAD1], underneath you have the key=value mappings. The possible keys fall into a few categories, each with differently interpreted values.
The buttons simply have a positive integer assigned to them, indicating the index of the mapped button (starting from 1). The keys for the buttons are:
A, B, X, Y, Left Shoulder, Right Shoulder, Back, Start, Left Thumb, Right Thumb, D-pad Up, D-pad Down, D-pad Left, D-pad Right

Analog sticks each have an axis assigned, again starting from 1. If you want to invert a particular axis, use negative indexes. The keys for the analogs are:
Left Analog X, Left Analog Y, Right Analog X, Right Analog Y

Triggers can be assigned to a button, axis, or slider. If the first character of the value is 'a', it refers to an axis, if it is an 's' it's a slider, otherwise it's a button. The rest is the index, which is used the same way as in the previous two cases. The keys for the triggers are:
Left Trigger, Right Trigger

The last key is "D-pad POV", if you give it a value (starting from 1), the POV/hat-switch with that index will be assigned to the D-pad.

1. Type about:config in the address bar and then press Enter.

2. In the filter search bar type network.http.pipelining. Be sure the value field is set true,if not double-click to set true. HTTP is the application-layer protocol that most web pages are transferred with. In HTTP 1.1, multiple requests can be sent before any responses are received. This is known as pipelining. Pipelining reduces page loading times, but not all servers support it.

3. Go back to the filter search bar and type network.http.pipelining.maxrequests. Double-click this option and set its value to 8.

4. In the filter search bar and type network.http.proxy.pipelining. Once opened doubleclick on it and set it to true.

5. In IPv6-capable DNS servers, an IPv4 address may be returned when an IPv6 address is requested. It is possible for Mozilla to recover from this misinformation, but a significant delay is introduced.
Type network.dns.disableIPv6 in the filter search bar and set this option to true by double clicking on it.

6. CONTENT INTERRUPT PARSING
This preference controls if the application will interrupt parsing a page to respond to UI events. It does not exist by default. Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config window, select New and then Boolean from the pop-up menu. Then:
A. Enter content.interrupt.parsing in the New boolean value pop-up window and click OK
B. When prompted to choose the value for the new boolean, select true and click OK.

7. Rather than wait until a page has completely downloaded to display it to the user, Mozilla applications will regularly render what has been received to that point. This option controls the maximum amount of time the application will be unresponsive while rendering pages. Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config window, select New and then Integer from the pop-up menu.
A. Enter content.max.tokenizing.time in the New integer value pop-up window and click OK
B. You will be prompted to enter a value. Enter 2333333 and click OK.

8. CONTENT NOTIFY INTERVAL
This option sets the minimum amount of time to wait between reflows. Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config window, select New and then Integer from the pop-up menu.
A. Type content.notify.interval in the New integer value pop-up window and click OK.
B. You will be prompted to enter a value. Enter 849999 and click OK.

9. CONTENT NOTIFY ONTIMER
A. This option sets if to reflow pages at an interval any higher than that specified by content.notify.interval. Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config window and select New and then Boolean from the pop-up menu.
B. Type content.notify.ontimer in the New boolean value pop-up window and click OK.
C. You will be prompted to choose the value for the new boolean. Select true and click OK.

10. Notify Backoffcount
This option controls the maximum number of times the content will do timer-based reflows. After this number has been reached, the page will only reflow once it is finished downloading. Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config window and select New and then Integer from the pop-up menu.
A. Enter content.notify.backoffcount in the New integer value pop-up window and click OK.
B. You will be prompted to enter a value. Enter 5 and click OK.

11. CONTENT SWITCH THRESHOLD
You can interact with a loading page when content.interrupt.parsing is set to true. When a page is loading, the application has two modes: a high frequency interrupt mode and a low frequency interrupt mode. The first one interrupts the parser more frequently to allow for greater UI responsiveness during page load.
The low frequency interrupt mode interrupts the parser less frequently to allow for quicker page load. The application enters high frequency interrupt mode when you move the mouse or type on the keyboard and switch back to low frequency mode when you had no activity for a certain amount of time. This preference controls that amount of time. Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config window and select New and then Integer from the pop-up menu.
A. Enter content.switch.threshold in the New integer value pop-up window and click OK.
B. You will be prompted to enter a value. Enter 849999 and click OK.

12. NGLAYOUT INITIALPAINT DELAY
Mozilla applications render web pages incrementally, they display what’s been received
of a page before the entire page has been downloaded. Since the start of a web page
normally doesn’t have much useful information to display, Mozilla applications will wait
a short interval before first rendering a page. This preference controls that interval. Rightclick (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config window and select New and then Integer from the pop-up menu.

So after a bit of reading I've figured out a way to make your own ringtones out of any song on your computer for your iPhone.

It goes like this.

1. Add file(s) to your iTunes library.

2. Right click Get Info, then options tab.

3. Make the start time and stop time the duration of the ringtone you'd like to use (no longer than 40 seconds though). For example, if you'd like to use the first 40 seconds of a song, make the start time 0:00 and the end time 0:40. If you want to use from 1:40-2:20 then do it like that, just make sure you use whichever part of the song you want to be your ringer and also make sure it doesn't exceed 40 seconds. After you've selected which part of the song will be your ringer, click OK.

4. Right click the song, and click 'Convert Selection to AAC'.

5. Go to your desktop, and make a folder called Ringtones. Once you've done that, go back to iTunes, right click the newly created clip and click copy. Paste it in the folder you just made.

6. Rename the file from whateversongyoupicked.m4a to whateversongyoupicked.m4r (in order to see file extensions you might have to play with your settings a bit) (whateversongyoupicked is just the example, you don't need to change the name of the song, just the extension).

7. Go back to iTunes, and delete the 40 second AAC clip you've made, but be sure to keep the file!

8. Sync/Resync your iPhone, and it should automatically add the file to your ringtone folder.

Stage 1 : Install homebrew Channel

1. Start up the Wii with legends of Zelda and save a game.
2. Put the Homebrew installer onto an SD Card by unzipping it to the root
3. Quit the game and go to Wii Menu - Wii OPtions - Data Management - Save Data - Wii and delete the Zelda Saved File.
4. Click the SD card tab at the top and select the EUR file (for Europe) or US (for US) and when asked to copy to the wii system memory select Yes
5. Go back to the zelda game and start it - and select the saved game Twilight Hack.
6. Talk to the man by pressing A - and wait for an install screen
7. Click Accept (1 button) to all of the menus
8. Upon returning to the Wii menu , you will have Homebrew Installed (may need a hard reboot at this stage)

Stage one complete !

The homebrew channel includes a few games like Tetris, Doom , Quake and a few more and has a Homebrew browser for anyone who wants more homebrew applications.
I have also recently included the Wii MPLayer that lets you listen to streaming audio with your wii ... not classy looking but it works well. mplayerwii.conf is where you find the stations.

Stage 2 : Install the rest

1. Go to the Homebrew Channel and select safe update 3.3u - this will update the wii with the recent nintendo releases and save you headaches in the future (Thanks tona)
2. In the homebrew channel select cIOS Installer and install that - all files required are also in the zip so it should be quick (Thanks WiiGator)
3. Select number 6 - WAD manager and install the BackupLoaderChannel0.3.wad file (Thanks Tgames)
4. Burn your ISO to disc (no need to patch them with this version) and get ready to play games.

Stage 3 : (Optional) Backup a game from the wii

Updating from the old Installer
**********************************************

If you wish to update from the old installer all you need to do is :
1. Copy the 'apps/2. cIOS_Installer' and '00000001' (to root) to their respective folders on your memory card
2. Copy the BackupLoaderChannel0.3.wad in the wads folder into the SD card WAD folder
3. Start Homebrew and go to the cIOS Installer and run it
4. Go to the WAD Manager and install the BackupLoaderChannel0.3.wad (BackupLoaderChannel0.2.wad may need to be uninstalled)
5. Run the game.
6. I would also recommend installing the safe update 3.3u and not to do any official nintendo updates as it may stop further installs and updates.

BRIEF TUTORIAL FOR MeGUI AND ENCODING FROM HDrips AND DVDrips!

1. Installing and Updating:
install MeGUI, update it. (Update is a MUST! then load all profiles offered during the update!)

2. Opening and Creating Avisynth

When you run the program, File/Open your source film,
(SOURCE MUST BE GOOD QUALITY -- HD, HDrip, DVDR, DVDrip or atleast R5 LINE --, don't bother with low quality sources) it will ask you to create AVS file, its mostly needed for resizing, cropping,filter information, and source path of course. Just untick/unselect the Resize, cause if you temper with the resolution it doesn't turns out quite well, so original resolution is fine without resizing.
Only HD and DVDR need to be resized and cropped!

3. x264
Cause a lot of you can't find HQ Slower profile, here are MY profiles (updated), just unpack them in the megui directory and overwrite yours and when you run the program all profiles should appear!

Make sure that codec is x264 and container/extension/File Format is MKV. Use HQ Slower profile (it takes some time to encode, for me its like 3.5hrs, and on dual core processors its around 2hrs.) or even HQ slow (not much faster but with less command lines). Experiment with it, look at other people rips (especially Adzapper's, then compare to your own), maybe you find even better profile than HQ slower.

4. Audio

Audio source (input) is the same as movie source file! Open it, then find the source video file. (example: if you have opened troy.avi then created avisynth script troy.avs, after that you click on Audio input "troy.avi file IS Audio input/source!)
Select it and open, select codec to be NDAAC (Nero Digital Audio Codec) Use profile NDAAC-HE-64kbs, then select Adaptive bitrate and set from 45-50kbs (thats enough for decent audio quality and extremely high compression!) or you can use LAME MP3, go to config, there is not much things you can do here just change the bitrate from 128 to 80 (below that, the sound isnt very good) click OK.
NDAAC (Nero Digital Audio) is one of the best codecs, probably even better than LAME cause it can do high audio compression while preserving decent audio quality at small bitrates.

Then copy all the files (neroAacDec.exe, neroAacEnc.exe, neroAacEnc_SSE.exe, neroAacTag.exe) from extracted directory (win32) to C:/Program Files/MeGUI/. Do not copy the entire directory, only files.

5. Final Step
In the lower right corner you have "Autoencode" tab. Click on it.

Select a Container to be MKV (if it isn't already). This is where you decide the entire outcome/bitrate of the movie. Click "average bitrate" option and type the desired bitrate (example 500kbs total, 450kbs goes to video 50kbs to audio, of course if audio is set to 50kbs if it is set to higher bitrates then it will lower video bitrate), that is depending on movie duration your size and bitrate will vary. Aim to get the size 1MB BELOW the targeted size, if its 300MB rip, aim to 299MB, if its 400MB rip, aim to 399MB (this is because of compressing with winrar so you dont get fourth rar file on 300MB rips that is like 1-2MB's)

6. Encoding

In autoencode window click Queue. In upper left corner you have the tabs Input/Queue/Log. Click on Queue. Click Start. If no workers exist program will offer to create one!
And thats it. Now you have to wait , in my case 3 hrs. Not a very fast computer.

After shef and I recovered our collector account, we felt its important to let everyone else to know how to recover their precious RS accounts (whether premium or free accounts) if lost to scammers, and show those fags out there that they can go screw themselves.

Here is what we did provided for Rapidshare Technical Support to get our accounts back:

1. Account name: Login ID and the aliases you've used
2. Date of creation
3. Date of thievery
4. A copy of the LOGS (where the IPs are recorded) and tell RS which ones are friendly and get them to blacklist the hostile ones (which are most likely ones belonged to the scammer)
5. Email used to create the account
6. All emails that have been applied to the account
7. Make a backup of all the links of the files uploaded to the account (use that extract link option)

IMPORTANT - Rapidshare asked us to give them a few links of uploaded content, I think they use them to track the account so its vital for you to have a clear record of what have been uploaded to your account and what their links are.

8. Tell them the Number of files uploaded and the Total Size of the files uploaded. Simply copy paste the account status on your main menu.
9. Tell them how many points you have got.
10. Take screenshots of Your Main Menu, Your LOGS, Your OPTIONS

Tips:

- Make sure your email is sincere. formal and honest. Don't be aggressive, they reply really fast and they are nice people.
- Tell them a good reason why your account MUST be recovered. Shef and I said our account contained confidential and very personal information that are very important to our family etc...

1.Increase bandwidth by tweaking QoS in Windows XP Pro

The following tweak applies only to Windows XP Professional edition.

The default system behavior is that all 100% bandwidth is available, however, if there is a running application that indicates to the OS it needs to send high priority/real time data, then as long as it has the socket open, Windows XP will restrict “best effort” traffic to 80% of the bandwidth so that high priority traffic can be accommodated. Basically, applications can make this request to the operating system for QoS support using the QoS application programming interfaces (APIs) in Windows and this only applies if a specific app is requesting QoS.

If you'd like to change how much bandwidth is reserved for QoS (the default is 20% of the total bandwidth), do the following:

1. Make sure you're logged in as "Administrator" (not just any account with admin privileges).
2. Navigate to START>Run and type: gpedit.msc
3. Navigate to Local Computer Policy > Administrative Templates > Network > QOS Packet Scheduler
4. In the right window, double-click the limit reservable bandwidth setting
5. On the setting tab, check the enabled setting.
6. Where it says "Bandwidth limit %", change it to read 0 (or whatever percentage you want to reserve for high priority QoS data)
7. Click OK, close gpedit.msc

Under START > My Computer > My Network Connections > View Network Connections, right-click on your connection and under Properties (where it lists your protocols), make sure QOS Packet Scheduler is enabled.

The tweak desribed below helps boost priority for DNS & hostname resolution in general. What this means is, it helps web pages load faster, and has negligible effect on downloads (not counting the couple of ms gain with the host resolution at connect-time).

Applying this tweak assumes some proficiency in editing the Windows Registry using Regedit (Start > Run > type: regedit). As always, backup your Registry before making any changes so you can revert to the previous state if you don't like the results.

2.Host Resolution Priority Tweak

Windows 2k/XP

First, open the Windows Registry using Regedit, and (after backing up) navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\ServiceProvider

Note the following lines (all hex dwords):
Class = 008 (8) - indicates that TCP/IP is a name service provider, don't change.

LocalPriority = 1f3 (499) - local names cache
HostsPriority = 1f4 (500) - the HOSTS file
DnsPriority = 7d0 (2000) - DNS
NetbtPriority = 7d1 (2001) - NetBT name-resolution, including WINS

What we're aiming to do is increase the priority of the last 4 settings, while keeping their order. The valid range is from -32768 to +32767 and lower numbers mean higher priority compared to other services. What we're aiming at is lower numbers without going to extremes, something like what's shown below should work well:

Change the "Priority" lines to:
LocalPriority = 005 (5) - local names cache
HostsPriority = 006 (6) - the HOSTS file
DnsPriority = 007 (7) - DNS
NetbtPriority = 008 (8) - NetBT name-resolution, including WINS

Windows 9x/ME

The tweak is essentialy the same as in Windows 2000/XP, just the location in the Registry is slightly different. For a more detailed description see the Windows 2000/XP section above.

Open the Windows Registry using Regedit, and (after backing up) navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MSTCP\ServiceProvider

You should see the following settings:
Class=hex:08,00,00,00

LocalPriority=hex:f3,01,00,00
HostsPriority=hex:f4,01,00,00

The "priority" lines should be changed to:

Reboot for changes to take effect.

In addition to the tweaks already covered in Win 2k/XP Registry Tweaks and More Win 2k/XP Tweaks, the Windows XP Service Pack 2 introduces a few new issues covered in the article below. Please make sure you understand what you are doing before making any changes to your Operating System. Note the information below only applies to Windows XP Service Pack 2.

3.Remove the limit on TCP connection attempts

Windws XP SP2 introduces a few new twists to TCP/IP in order to babysit users and "reduce the threat" of worms spreading fast without control. In one such attempt, the devs seem to have limited the number of possible TCP connection attempts per second to 10 (from unlimited in SP1). This argumentative feature can possibly affect server and P2P programs that need to open many outbound connections at the same time.

Rant: The forward thinking of Microsoft developers here is that you can only infect 10 new systems per second via TCP/IP ?!?... If you also consider that each of those infected computers will infect 10 others at the same rate:
second 1: 1+10 computers
second 2: 10+10*10 computers (110 new ones)
second 3: 10+100*10 computers ( 1110 new ones)
second 4: 10+1000*10 computers (11110 new ones)
....
all the way to 10*60 + 10^60 computers in a single minute (that's a number with 60 digits, or it would far exceed Earth's population). Even if we consider that 90% of those computers are unreachable/protected, one would still reach ALL of them within a minute.

In other words, even though it is not going to stop worm spreading, it's going to delay it a few seconds, limit possible network congestion a bit, and limit the use of your PC to 10 connection attempts per second in the process ! I have no problem with the new default setting limiting outbound connection attempts. Still, users should have the option to easily disable or change this setting. I might be going out on a limb here, but ever since the introduction of Windows XP I can't help thinking that I dislike all the bult-in Windows "wisardry" in a sense that the system also limits user access. That irritating trend to ease the mental load on end users is somewhat insulting, considering that Windows is to make the more "intelligent" choice instead of the end user, as well as limit their access to tuning such settings...
End of rant.

With the new implementation, if a P2P or some other network program attempts to connect to 100 sites at once, it would only be able to connect to 10 per second, so it would take it 10 seconds to reach all 100. In addition, even though the setting was registry editable in XP SP1, it is now only possible to edit by changing it directly in the system file tcpip.sys. To make matters worse, that file is in use, so you also need to be in Safe mode in order to edit it.

You only need to worry about the number of connection attempts per second if you have noticed a slowdown in network programs requiring a number of connections opened at once. You can check if you're hitting this limit from the Event Viewer, under System - look for TCP/IP Warnings saying: "TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent TCP connect attempts". Keep in mind this is a cap only on incomplete outbound connect attempts per second, not total connections. Still, running servers and P2P programs can definitely be affected by this new limitation. Use the fix as you see fit.

To change or remove the limit, you can use the following program:

4. Recommended settings for Windows 2000 / XP
Windows 2000 & XP, unlike NT supports large windows as described in RFC1323 ( the 'RcvWindow' has a maximum value of 2**30 rather than 64K), and includes some other improvements over its predecessors you can use to speed up any TCP/IP transfers. , the descriptions and other options are added to provide you with better understanding and enable you to customize your settings.

All the following entries, unless otherwise noted should be placed in the Windows 2000/XP Registry under the key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters

TCPWindowSize

The value of TCP Window in the Windows 2000 Registry is DWORD, representing number of bytes, with range from 0 to 2^30. The recommended values (in red) optimize TCP for any high speed Internet connection and work best in most cases, however if you'd like to use a custom value follow these guidelines:

For best results, the TCPWindow should be a multiple of MSS (Maximum Segment Size). MSS is generally MTU - 40, where MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) is the largest packet size that can be transmitted. MTU is usually 1500 (1492 for PPPoE connections). To determine the MTU value of your ISP, check out the Advanced Registry Editing section of our site.

There are three places in the Windows 2000 Registry where you can add the TCP Window parameter.

HKLM/SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize="256960" (DWORD, number of bytes) Valid range is from MSS to 2^30. Add the value as a decimal. Note: For best results RWIN has to be a multiple of MSS lower than 65535 times a scale factor that's a power of 2, i.e. 44 x 1460 = 64240 x 2^2 = 256960. If you choose to use a RWIN lower than 65535, you can simply make it multiple of MSS and turn scaling off (Tcp1323Opts=0)

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
TcpWindowSize="256960" (DWORD, number of bytes) Valid range is from MSS to 2^30. Add the value as a decimal. TcpWindowSize can also exist under TcpipParametersInterface - if added at this location, it overrides the global setting for this particular . Note (10/20/00): Seems MS has found another bug in Windows 2000, the TCPWindowSize should be configured with the global setting (GlobalMaxTcpWindowsSize) rather than this one - Q263088

Note: For best results RWIN has to be a multiple of MSS lower than 65535 times a scale factor that's a power of 2, i.e. 44 x 1460 = 64240 x 2^2 = 256960. If you choose to use a RWIN lower than 65535, you can simply make it multiple of MSS and turn scaling off (Tcp1323Opts=0)

Tcp1323Opts

Tcp1323Opts is a necessary setting in order to enable Large TCPWindow support as described in RFC 1323. Without this parameter, the TCPWindow is limited to 64K.

Tcp1323Opts="1" (DWORD, recommended setting is 1. The possible settings are 0 - Disable RFC 1323 options, 1 - Window scaling but no Timestamp options, 3 - Window scaling and Time stamp options.)

Note: Tcp1323Opts="3" might help in some cases where there is increased packet loss, however generally you'll achieve better throughput with Tcp1323Opts="1", since Timestamps add 12 bytes to the header of each packet.

DefaultTTL

DefaultTTL determines the time in seconds and the number of hops a packet lives. While it does not directly affect speed, a larger value increases the amount of time it takes for a packet to be considered lost, discarded and retransmitted. A value that's too small can cause packets to be unable to reach distant servers at all.

DefaultTTL="64" (DWORD, recommended setting is 64. Other settings that are widely used are 128 and 32)

EnablePMTUDiscovery

When set to 1 (True), TCP attempts to discover MTU automatically over the path to a remote host. Setting this parameter to 0 causes MTU to default to 576 which reduces overall performance over high speed connections. Note that this setting is different than our Windows 9x recommendation.

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
EnablePMTUDiscovery="1" (DWORD - boolean, valid settings are 0-->False and 1-->True. Many connections perform better with this entry at 1, however, if you prefer to set your upstream to send fixed 1500 packets, you might want to use 0 instead). When set at 1, establishing connections and initial transfer speed might slow down a bit, however you will get better throughput if somewhere in the path large packets need to be fragmented.

EnablePMTUBHDetect

Setting this parameter to 1 (True) enables "black hole" routers to be detected, however it also increases the maximum number of retransmissions for a given segment. In most cases you'd want to keep BHDetect to 0 (False).

EnablePMTUBHDetect="0" (DWORD - boolean, valid settings are 0-->False and 1-->True. Recommended setting is 0)

SackOpts

This parameter controls whether or not SACK (Selective Acknowledgement) support is enabled, as specified in RFC 2018. SACK is especially important for connections using large TCP Window sizes.

SackOpts="1" (DWORD - boolean, recommended setting is 1. Possible settings are 0 - No Sack options or 1 - Sack Option enabled).

TcpMaxDupAcks

This parameter determines the number of duplicate ACKs that must be received for the same sequence number of sent data before "fast retransmit" is triggered to resend the segment that has been dropped in transit.

Description: Patch Windows 2k/XP not to cache failed DNS entries. By default, when a DNS lookup fails (due to temporary DNS problems), Windows still caches the unsuccessful DNS query, and in turn fails to connect to a host regardless of the fact that the DNS server might be able to handle your lookup seconds later. This patch fixes the problem by configuring the DNS client to continue sending queries to an unresponsive network. To install, save to your HD, unzip the .reg file, then double-click the filename.

Web Patches - faster loading of Web Pages

The following patch increases Web page loading speed, by doubling the number of possible concurrent open connections. For example, imagine a web page has 20 images and some text - in order for your browser to get all these files, it opens 2 or 4 concurrent connections, depending on the Web server. Increasing the number of open connections allows for faster retrieving of the data. Please note that the patch sets some values outside of the HTML specs. If you decide to install it, backup your Registry first. Changes will take effect after you reboot. Download the patch appropriate for your OS:

Q: I did not backup the "KD" folder after creating the "ordinary" Pandora's Battery, now I can't turn my battery back to normal. Can you send me the proper files?
A: No, but what you can do is boot up your Fat PSP without the Stick and Battery (use AC Adapter), then insert Stick and Battery and run "Pandora's Battery Creator".

Q: After I have created the Magic Memory Stick for the Slim PSP, can I still use it to unbrick/downgrade the Fat PSP?
A: No, and that's why you should make a backup of the KD folder after making the "ordinary" Magic Memory Stick. Just put back the KD folder from the "ordinary" Magic Memory Stick and you can use it on the Fat PSP again, no need to modify the battery in any way. ( (1-1-J) and (2-1-F) )

Q: Can I use the newly 3.60 M33 enabled PSP Slim to revert Pandora's Battery back to a normal one after the installation? Or do I have to use the Fat PSP?
A: No, you must use the Fat PSP. (thanks DarkSeveN) The function to write the Battery's EEPROM was accidently left in 1.50, Sony removed it right after discovering that, so 1.51 or higher kernels can't write the battery's EEPROM.

Q: I can't see the two or three applications on the XMB after putting them in "GAME150".
A: Try putting them in "GAME" or in "GAME352" (replace 352 with your version, example: you have 3.40 OE-A, then make a folder called "GAME340")

Q: I'm running Vista and I have a problem running MSPFORMAT, what can I do?
A: Some people reported this problem, there seems to be no way around this at the moment (besides from running it on XP). I recommend to continue without the MSPFORMAT step, in some cases it works without it.

Q: I already have the Pandora Battery for the Fat PSP and want to convert it to the Slim, what do I have to do?
A: Follow steps 1-1-F (copy over 'pandora_slim'), 1-1-H (copy over 3.40 and 3.50 updates) and 1-1-N (run 3.60 mem-stick installer). Basicly you just have to read the M33 Readme, you've already done that, right?

(1-1) INSTALLATION PART 1:

(1-1-A) Connect stick through USB or Card Reader to PC.

(1-1-B) ( obsolete step, though it is in the Pandora's Battery Readme, the next step already does this part )
Format the memory stick, you can do this in many ways.
Easiest would probably be with the Windows utility: My Computer > Right click the stick > Format > Enable "Quick..." > Start
Or use a command prompt: (replace X: with your drive and MyLabel with any label you want)

(1-1-E) Create a folder on the stick with the name "PSP", in the PSP folder make one called "GAME150"
(1-1-F) Copy these folders from the Pandora package to the GAME150 folder: "pandora_battery", "pandora_battery%", "pbfirm_install" and "pbfirm_install%"
(1-1-G) Copy these folders from the M33 package to the GAME150 folder: "pandora_slim" and "pandora_slim%"
(1-1-H) Extract "EBOOT.PBP" from the 1.50 update package and rename it to "UPDATE.PBP", then copy it to the ROOT of the memory stick.
(1-1-I) Extract "EBOOT.PBP" from the 3.40 and 3.50 update packages and rename them "340.PBP" and "350.PBP", then copy them to the "pandora_slim" folder.

(1-1-J) Put the stick in the "fat" PSP (or disable USB connection) and run "Pandora's Battery Firm. Installer"
Once loaded, press X to create the required files on the stick and wait for it to exit to XMB.

(1-1-K) Connect stick through USB or Card Reader to PC.

(1-1-L) I recommend making a complete backup of the memory stick at this point. [backup 1]
Keep the "KD" folder in a safe place if you want to use the Magic Memory Stick on the "fat" PSP in the future.

(1-1-M) Copy the newly created "msipl.bin" from the memory stick to the "msinst" folder of the Pandora package located on your hard drive.

(1-1-N) Open a Dos prompt (Start > Run > CMD > OK) and enter these commands, replace "C:\Pandora's Battery\msinst" with the folder where your "msinst.exe" and "msipl.bin" are. Also replace X with the drive of your stick.

It will ask "Are You Sure ?[Y]", type 'y' and press enter.
You now have created the original Magic Memory Stick

Once loaded, press X to create the new files on the stick and wait for it to exit to XMB.
You now have created the Magic Memory Stick for the "slim" PSP.

(1-1-P) Run "Pandora's Battery Creator"

(1-1-Q) First press "triangle" to backup the battery's EEPROM to the stick, you can use this to restore it to a normal battery later on.
It's also possible to restore without the EEPROM backup, though it is unclear what the difference is.

(1-1-R) Press X to convert your battery to Pandora's Battery.

(1-1-S) Again, I recommend to make a backup, at least backup the "eeprom.bin" that you (might have) created earlier. [backup 2]
Keep the "KD" folder in a safe place if you want to use the Magic Memory Stick on the "slim" PSP in the future.

(1-2) INSTALLATION PART 2:

(1-2-A) Make sure the "slim" PSP is off. Put the SLIMinized Magic Memory Stick and Pandora's Battery in it.
I was having a hard time slamming the "fat" battery into the "slim" PSP, but you just have to push it hard until you hear a click.
It should turn on by itself, though you won't see anything on the screen.

(1-2-B) You have several options here, if you just want to modify the firmware to M33, press X.
This shouldn't take more than a couple seconds, and then it will turn off automaticly.
Other options are "Square" and "L + R + triangle", the use of these options are out of the scope of this guide, refer to the Readme of the M33 package for more info.

(1-2-C) Remove the Magic Memory Stick and insert the normal "slim" battery.

Your "slim" PSP is now ready for use with homebrew!

(2-1) RESTORE BATTERY TO NORMAL ONE (optional):

(2-1-A) (Make sure you haven't deleted anything on the Magic Memory Stick inbetween the steps, if you did delete anything, at least put back "pandora_battery", "pandora_battery%" and "eeprom.bin")

(2-1-B) Turn on the "fat" PSP without the Magic Memory Stick and Pandora's Battery inserted, but with the AC Adapter.

(2-1-C) Insert the Magic Memory Stick and Pandora's Battery after it was powered on.

(2-1-D) Run "Pandora's Battery Creator"

(2-1-E) Press L-Trigger + R-Trigger to restore the battery to a normal one with the use of "eeprom.bin"
You could get an error at this point: "Error writing at address 0x14".
Ignore this error, it happens most of the times, if not always.

Everything should be back to normal now.

(2-1-F) If you want to make the Magic Memory Stick to work again for the "fat" PSP, just put back the "KD" folder that you backed up earlier.
