[TUTORIAL] Use your PSP as monitors for your PC!

Here is an application that lets you use the PSP as a secondary display for your computer.

Materials needed:

-A PC running Windows XP
(it seems that it does not work with Vista and it has not been tested on Windows 2000, and Linux / Mac OS are not available) with at least a Pentium 4 / Athlon 64 as processor.
-A PSP ( with custom firmware )


The tutorial will take place in 5 parts:

I. Installing of aplication on PC
II. Installing of aplication on PSP
III. Installation of USB drivers for the PC Addendum: If the PC refuses to start
IV. Using PSPdisp



I. Installing of aplication on PC :


Download the application for PC :

extract and Run the file pspdisppc.exe

Next,

Check "I accept the terms in the License Agreement" then click Next,

Uncheck "Autostart PSPdisp" if you do that the application will not starts at startup, then click Next,

Install,


Image

The installation takes place, wait!

Click Finish, the installation is finished,


If all went well, the icon should appear in the status bar :

II. Installing of aplication on PSP :


Download PSPdisp 0.1 : ( For all PSP Custom Firmware )

Connect your PSP to your computer via USB, Place your PSP in "USB mode" with the option "USB Connection", Right-click on the file you downloaded, Choose "Extract files ...", (WinRAR is recommended), Select destination as the letter assigned by your PSP in "My computer",
Press OK and wait for the extraction of files, quit the "USB mode" on your PSP and disconnect the USB cable to your PSP,Go to the menu Game >>> Memory Stick to launch PSPdisp.

The application for PSP is correctly installed, we will go to the installation of USB drivers for the PC. Do not close the application on PSP, or the one on PC!



III. Installation of USB drivers for the PC :


Download the USB drivers :

Right-click on the file you downloaded, select "Extract to driversusb" (WinRAR is recommended).


Connect your PSP to USB, the message should appear :

Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) and click Next,

Click "Find the best driver in these locations" and "Include this location in the search" and click Browse. Select the folder driversusb extracted earlier and click Next,

Once installation is complete click Finish.


Additional: If the PC refuses to run

It may happen that the software refuses to run and displays the following error:

This is due to non-presence of the display driver, which is normally installed automatically.
To fix this, you must install it manually.

Download the drivers display :

Right-click on the file you downloaded, select "Extract to driversusb" (WinRAR is recommended)


Click Start, then Control Panel.

Click Switch to Classic View,

Click Add Hardware,

Click Next,

Check "Yes I have already connected the hardware", and then click Next,

Select "Add a new hardware device" and click Next,

Select "Install the hardware that I manually select from the list" and click Next,

Select graphics card and click Next,

Click on Disk,

select the file "Pspdisp.inf" in the folder displaydriver

Click Next,


Image

Click Finish.



IV. Using PSPdisp :


To use PSPdisp , you must start the aplication on PC and on PSP to, and connect the PSP to PC USB.
Then right-click on the icon of aplicaion PC in the status bar.

To activate the display, you must click on "Display Driver" > "Enable Display", and then click Enabled.

You should be able to see the screen of your PC to your PSP.
